Bio

​

Siah Bonita Hagin, MSEd, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor whose passion for the mental health field stems from her deep love of psychology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from York College in 1995. She later obtained two Master’s degrees from Long Island University: a Master of Science in Education in Guidance and Counseling and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.

Ms. Hagin has dedicated the past 22 years to serving students and families through the New York City Department of Education. In 2011, driven by her passion for empowering young girls, she founded Real Girls Real Feelings, an empowerment-based curriculum and guided support group designed specifically for girls ages 9 and 10.

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Ms. Hagin courageously shares her journey of struggle, faith, and healing in her published works, The Journey Continues (2018) and The Silent Cries of a Black Girl (2022). Through her writing and professional work, she remains committed to helping others find healing, resilience, and hope.
